Suspension
Bigger is better right? Not necessarily! But how much bigger? What size tires do you want to run? Will they rub? Tons of questions come up when it comes to lifts so when you’re looking for the right answers it’s best to talk to the professionals. You can also view our FAQ that addresses a lot of the common questions people ask about lifts. Here are some of the brands we recommend, remember quality parts = quality build. Do it once, do it right.
MetalCloak – Rock Krawler – Evo Manufacturing – Synergy – Teraflex – Clayton Offroad
Wheels & Tires
Did you know that lower profile tires ride rougher? Are you torn between all terrain tires and mud terrain tires? Are you worried that your tires won’t fit your factory wheels? We can get any tire and wheel from just about any manufacturer out there. Here are some brands that we like!
Raceline – Method Race Wheels – Fuel Offroad – KMC – ProComp – Trail Ready – American Racing – American Force
Bumpers Fenders & Armor
When you’re out on the trails, stock bumpers just don’t cut it. From bumping into rocks or obstacles to stopping the Prius that crashes into the back of you, bumpers fenders and armor make a huge difference on how your jeep survives life at the mall. We can outfit your Jeep or truck to protect itself from these dangers in any way you see fit. For everything you do to your vehicle, these probably make the most difference as far as quality. Here are our favorites…
Motobilt – GenRight – LOD – Evo Manufacturing – Rock Hard 4×4 – DV8
Gears & Drivetrain
You just put the new lift wheels and tires on and now you’re wondering where all your power went. When you put the larger tires on, it now takes more power to turn those big meats. You’ll also notice a drop in MPG. This all happens because the engine is no longer running in its power range that it was designed to. The solution to this is to regear your vehicle with the right gear ratio for the tire size. There are charts out there on recommended gear ratios for tire size and while they’re a good starting point, they’re not 100% accurate. The use of your vehicle plays an equal role in gear selection.
Since most of you coming here probably have Jeeps, we’ve listed our recommendations for you here – please consult with us to verify though as every vehicle is different. If you do not have a Rubicon, the highest ratio you can do is 5.13.
’07-11 Jeep Wrangler (1st ratio is for automatics / 2nd ratio for manuals)
33″ Tires – 4.56 /4.10
35″ Tires – 5.13 /4.88
37″+ Tires – 5.13 – 5.38 if you have a Rubicon
’12+Jeep Wrangler (1st ratio is for automatics / 2nd ratio for manuals)
33″ Tires – 4.56 / 4.10
35″ Tires – 4.88 / 4.56
37″ Tires – 5.13 / 4.88
38-40″ Tires – 5.38

More Drivetrain…
We also recommend up graded driveshafts! If your driveshaft is slinging grease from the transfer case side, the boot is tore. When that happens dirt, water and grime enter the sealed portion and act as sand paper to the joint rusting up and eventually causing it to start clicking. IF YOUR DRIVESHAFT IS CLICKING – REMOVE IT! We can order you a new Adams Driveshaft and get you back on the road safe and sound with not only an upgrade – but an upgrade that is far superior than the OEM shaft.
Death Wobble
You’ve just hit a bump and your front end shakes violently uncontrollable till you can slow down and scares you so bad you don’t drive your vehicle for two weeks – this is death wobble. Death wobble is 95% of the time caused from 2 things: Worn or Loose parts. Within that – it’s TYPICALLY worn ball joints or a loose/worn track bar. That’s not to say that it can’t be other things. We offer a FREE DEATH WOBBLE SHAKEDOWN at our shop that does not require an appointment. In 10 minutes we’ll know what we need to do and get you on the schedule to make it happen. We fix these issues multiple times a week. Death wobble is something that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible as it can cause extreme wear on other front end components leading to more expensive repairs.
Something to also consider if you like wheeling is to add inner C gussets to your factory axle. These are only able to be installed when the ball joints are out because welding the gussets will melt the plastic inside the ball joint – causing instant death wobble.
We proudly use Teraflex ball joints in all of our ball joint jobs and give a 1 year warranty on them.
